What is it?

Little Often is a water tracker that helps you care for yourself gently — a little and often.

Log every glass and see how your day is going.

How much water do you need?

There is no single number that suits everyone, and the famous “8 glasses a day” has no scientific basis. We gathered what research actually says — how much to drink, whether coffee counts, and where “too much” begins — with every source cited: How much water do you need?

Free and ad-free

Little Often is free, and everything it does today will stay free. There are no ads and there never will be — and no subscriptions either.

Right now your records live on your device alone. Moving them to another device is something you do by hand: save them to a file or scan a QR code in Settings. Two more ways to use the app are on the way, and only the last of them costs anything.

Sync — soon

Two devices are linked once by scanning a QR code — no account, no email, and whatever is kept on the server is encrypted. If sync goes unused for 30 days, the server forgets the link, and you reconnect the devices the same way, with a code. That is exactly what keeps sync free.

Backup — later

Backup keeps the history of your records on the server, so it can be restored even if you clear the site data or lose every device at once. You pay once, and the amount is small — this is not a subscription and not a monthly fee. The payment covers the cost of storing the data.

Your data is safe

All data is stored only on your device.

We don't send data to servers, don't collect analytics, and don't track your activity.

Works offline

After the first visit, Little Often works without an internet connection. You can log water, view statistics, and change settings even in airplane mode.

When you go back online, everything stays in place — nothing is lost.

Reminders

On a computer, Little Often can gently remind you to drink water — turn it on in Settings. Reminders work while a tab with the app stays open in the browser — it doesn't have to be the active one, feel free to work in other tabs. And they are as private as everything else here: no server involved, nothing leaves your device.

On phones, reminders aren't available yet — mobile platforms don't let web apps schedule notifications, and that's the case whether the app is installed on your phone or open in a browser. The native apps for iPhone, iPad and Android that we're working on will bring full reminder support.

Install on your phone

You can install Little Often on your phone like a regular app. It will open in full screen, without the browser interface.

App data is stored separately from the browser, so clearing your browser history won't delete your records.

Accessibility

The app is built with accessibility in mind. You can use Little Often with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies.

Important: data safety

If you use Little Often in a browser (not as an installed app), your data may be deleted when clearing browser history or site data.

We recommend installing Little Often on your phone — that way your records won't disappear when you clear your browser history.

The app automatically deletes records older than one year to save storage space.

Back up your data:

In Settings you can export your data to a file and import it back later — to keep a backup or move your records to another device. On Android you can also transfer data via a QR code. Everything stays on your device.
